It’s tempting to ignore the past or dismiss it. This may feel easier, but it’s unwise because the past can hurt. Another choice is to learn from the past – from our own experiences and the experiences of others. (This is why it’s so important to study world history.) The breakthrough is when we understand we are not our past. We get to choose our actions today.
