A morning stop at Starbucks, inside a grocery store. Three women are grouped together, laughing loudly and it’s clear they’ve just bumped into one another. “I can believe it’s you!” and, “You look fantastic!” amidst cackles and hugs. It’s a nice scene, and by the time I leave with my latte they are huddled together, seeing each other, listening closely, catching up.
I’m on the road this week, traveling for work. Here’s a connection happening between people I don’t know, whom I will never meet and probably never see again. Yet their behavior exudes friendship and affection, and it leaves an impression on my attitude this morning that will carry on through the day.
What impression do I leave with the people around me whom I may never met?
