I don’t like paying in cash for something that costs $7.12. Eighty-eight cents in change is not my idea of efficiency. If the total is $7.12 I’ll usually crack out the debit card instead of dealing with change.
So I was excited at the liquor store today when my purchase came to an even $10.00. I had a $20 bill in my hand and was watching the register to see if the tax on my order would push me over the even-number mark. Certainly the store set the price such that the total with tax worked out to an even $10.00. Perfect!
Now take that up a notch. Turns out my loyalty points have been adding up and I had just reached $10 worth of points. Score! Now THAT’S perfect change.
